MARJORIE JANET PHILLIPS HUDACEK Marjorie Janet (Phillips) Hudacek, September 22, 1925 February 27, 2024, Chico, California. Marjorie died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hudacek, sister, Dorothy Stewart (Clifford). Marjorie married John Hudacek on January 3, 1949. They had five children and is survived by Susan Hudacek, Tacoma, WA; David Hudacek (Debi) Seattle, WA; Ann Hudacek (Marvin Biasotti) Carmel Valley, CA; Teresa Hudacek (Filip Bajovic) Dallas, Texas; Mary Brownell (Jerry) Chico, CA. as well as 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Marjorie and John began their married life in Quincy, California. Later they moved to Redding, Willows and Chico. Marj was a woman of deep faith who loved her God, her church and family immensely. She had a fondness for the Trappist Abbey in Vina, California and all the friends she made through her church involvement in Quincy, Willows and Our Divine Savior in Chico. She saw life as an adventure and enjoyed every moment of it. Mom had a force of presence that exuded grace and dignity. She was known for her knitting, weaving, pine needle basket making and many other creative endeavors. She did not like to hear “No, it can’t be done.” She would always find another way. She had a curious mind and always questioned how things worked. Thank you, Mom, for being an awesome mother and friend. You will be deeply missed. Funeral mass will be on March 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Divine Savior, Chico California. Burial will be at Glen Oaks following the funeral.
