CHICO — The Downtown Chico Complete Streets Project will get two additional weeks to develop, with the City Council now set to review it March 5.

The council planned to consider plans at its Feb. 20 meeting. The city announced the postponement Monday afternoon, stating: “Due to the number of and expected length of other agenda items on February 20th, moving the discussion of the Downtown Complete Streets Project to March 5th will provide adequate time for public comment and council consideration.”

The city needs to replace sewer lines that are up to 100 years old. Doing so will require tearing up streets downtown, affording an opportunity to reconfigure traffic, parking and bike lanes.
