OROVILLE — The Butte County Office of Emergency Management is advising county residents to prepare for an upcoming storm Thursday through Sunday.

The county advises having emergency supplies — including a phone charger, flashlight, radio, warm blankets and clothing — on hand for possible road closures, downed trees and power outages, according to a press release Wednesday. Residents should account for enough food, water, essential medications and wood or pellets for warming.

Meanwhile, Caltrans announced Wednesday that Highway 70, which closed Feb. 20 from Jarbo Gap to Greenville Wye, will remain closed throughout the storm. Caltrans it aims to reopen the road around next Wednesday to one-way traffic pending an evaluation after the storm.
